I am watching the Chicago video panel and Sebastian’s face when the moderator kept insisting Bucky was a villain gives me life
you dumb ass uneducated cluster fuck of a noodle
Interviewer: Obviously people loved Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier. I know a lot of people loved his work in it. I mean, it’s a no-brainer he’s coming back. Can you comment if he’ll have a bigger part?
JR: We’ve called it a two parter. Certainly it’s a cliffhanger. I know a lot of people, some people didn’t like the fact that he didn’t have a lot of lines or that we didn’t explore a lot of his personality in that film. That wasn’t the point of that movie. The point of that movie was that a ghost from Cap’s past comes back and punches him in the face. And how does he deal with that while, mission wise, also trying to save the world. So that character in that movie had a really specific job of basically being a killing machine. And Cap cracked the veneer of that well-formed HYDRA killing machine. So what’s left to explore is the personality of the character, much the way Brubaker’s run did after Winter Soldier regained a semblance of his past. So the question would be, you know, philosophical issues we’d want to deal with in Cap 3 would be, you know, is he redeemable? Is he the worst assassin we’ve ever seen or is he the longest suffering P.O.W.? You know, where does he live now? Does he ever regain his memories?
AR: He’s a beautifully tragic character.
JR: If he doesn’t regain his memories, can we call him Bucky Barnes? Or is he somebody new? So it’s a really fascinating character to play with. Very rich. I remember when we met with Kevin and we found out they were doing the ‘Winter Soldier’, I said, ‘we’ve got Star Wars on our hands’ because it’s such a rich, familial conflict. A hero and a villain who are basically brothers. And such a complex villain… I always say the hero’s only as good as the villain. Bucky’s so rich and so complex, that he makes Cap more interesting.
Everyone says they was to see Cap pick up Thor’s hammer in AoU, but everyone knows that Cap’s a good guy.
No, what I want is for Natasha to pick it up. In the heat of battle, and it lands beside her, and she gets cornered so she grabs for a piece of debris to attack with and she just swings it completely without meaning too.
Then she realises that maybe she’s good, maybe she’s wiped out the red in her ledger.
Maybe she’ll realise that she’s a hero.
